How do invites work?

Sharing a trip creates a private invite — a link and a matching code — that grants access to that trip only. Send it to whoever you're travelling with. Anyone who opens the link or enters the code joins as a member and can add and edit expenses. There is no public directory or search of trips, so only people you send the invite to can join.

How do I leave a trip?

Open the trip, go to its settings, and choose "Leave trip." This removes the trip from your device and stops it syncing to you. It does not delete the trip or its expenses for the other members.

How is data deleted?

Each member can remove their own local copy at any time (see "leave a trip" above). To erase a shared trip for everyone, use "Delete trip everywhere" from the device that originally created the trip — this permanently removes the trip and its expenses from our servers. If that device isn't available, email us and we'll erase it for you.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Local-only trips never need a network connection. Shared trips read and write to a copy on your device first, so you can keep adding expenses with no signal — changes sync automatically once you're back online.

Can I export my trip data?

Yes. Any trip, local or shared, can be exported as JSON or CSV from within the app at any time.

Do I need an account?

No. All Square has no sign-up, login, email, or password. Joining a trip only requires the invite link or code.
