Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 8, 2026

All Square ("the app") is a trip expense-splitting app for small groups. This policy explains what data the app collects, where it is stored, and how you control it.

No Accounts

All Square does not use accounts, sign-up, email addresses, or passwords. There is nothing to register and nothing that identifies you personally. When you join a shared trip, the app signs your device in to Firebase Anonymous Authentication and receives a random identifier (a "uid"). This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity, is used only to attribute edits within a trip and to manage trip membership, and is never used for tracking or advertising.

What Is Stored, and Where

Local-only trips: if you never share a trip, that trip's name, dates, members, and expenses stay entirely on your device and are never sent anywhere.

Shared trips: when you create or join a shared trip, the trip and expense content your group types in — trip name, dates, member names, expense titles, categories, notes, and amounts — is stored in Google Firestore, hosted in the EU (europe-west1) region, alongside the anonymous device identifiers of the trip's members (used for attribution and membership only). Every shared trip is also mirrored to each member's own device so the app works offline. Firebase acts only as a data processor on the app's behalf; it does not use your data for its own purposes.

How Invites Work

Sharing a trip creates a private invite (a link and a matching code) that grants access to that trip only. Anyone who has the invite can join as a member; there is no public listing or search of trips. Once someone joins, every member can add and edit expenses in that trip.

Leaving a Trip

Any member can remove their local copy of a shared trip at any time, which stops that trip from syncing to their device. This does not delete the trip for other members.

Deleting a Shared Trip for Everyone

A shared trip can be permanently erased for every member ("delete trip everywhere") from the trip that created it — this action is only available on the device that originally created the trip, and it removes the trip and its expenses from Firestore entirely. If that device is ever unavailable, you can request erasure by emailing us (see Contact below) and we can remove the data directly from our systems.

No Analytics, No Ads, No Tracking

All Square contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no tracking of any kind. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties. The only outside service involved is Firebase (Google), acting strictly as infrastructure for shared trips — nothing more.

Offline Behaviour

The app is designed to work offline. Local-only trips never require a network connection. Shared trips read and write to a local copy first and sync in the background when a connection is available, so you can keep adding expenses without a signal.

Exporting Your Data

You can export any trip — local or shared — as a JSON or CSV file from within the app at any time. This is the recommended way to keep an independent copy of your data or move it elsewhere.

Data Location

Shared trip data is stored in Google Firestore in the europe-west1 (EU) region.

Children's Privacy

All Square does not knowingly collect data from children. The app is intended for general audiences splitting shared travel costs.

Changes to This Policy

If what the app collects or how it's stored changes, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change accordingly.
